I'll be the first to admit that my house is no where near perfect, but I do give my best effort to keep it somewhat clean. I just feel better when things are in it's place. However - lately I have felt like it is an impossible task to keep a clean home with three boys (well Sepa isn't to messy yet, but the other two make up for it). The day is only half over and already Ikaika has made three good size messes. So the pictures attached are not just random shots of things scattered on my floors - they are Ikaika's creations. The black-eyed peas I was soaking to cook for dinner tonight - all over the kitchen floor, water included. My nice palm-plant has lost half it's soil from the boys dumping it into the carpet - no, our carpet does not have white specks - that's the fertilizer from the soil. The paper clips were actually not that bad- it just felt extra messy after finding the other messes. And in case I seem like a neglectful mom - these things all happened while I was caring for Sepa- changing his diaper or feeding him.
Not to leave Kekoa out, yesterday he got into our jars on the counter with the different grains we have. I was fixing dinner and Kekoa said he was just going to "smell" them. Well - somehow my multi-purpose cleaner found its way into my jar of quinoa. Sometimes childhood curiosity and exploration drives me crazy!

PS. I am still sane after convincing myself that they will hopefully grow out of it. Actually writing this post is making me smile and shake my head more than anything.

My fiance's family has adopted a friend's rating system for spills and such. If it's a 1 - no big deal. 2 - maybe it needs some attention. 3 - don't let it get out of control, but still, take it easy. 4 - hope you can stop it before it becomes a 5. 5 - HURRY!
How do these ratings come about? Well, a 1 means the spill (or mess) is only touching one surface (such as a plate, or the table). A 2 means it is touching two surfaces (a plate and the table). 3 - well, you get the idea.
In other words, no need to really freak out unless it's really something to freak out about.
You're doing GREAT Michele! Just great! And none of us could ever even believe you are a negligent mother.
Oh I got a good chuckle out of this post...It's good to reflect back and see how humourous it all is isn't it;) Keep up the great work!!!
What a day you had! Good for you for smiling. :)
Only you could make pictures of black-eyed peas, dirt, and paper clips beautiful.
Michele,
Aren't we all in this for the learning? It seems to drive us crazy, but remember we're all God's children. What he must think when we make a little mess or take a wrong turn...
I think you're great at making the positive come out of little frustrations. Keep your head up and a smile planted on it!
