because it is over.
Not that I didn't enjoy teaching Joy School. And not that I didn't like the curriculum (I loved it in fact). It just that it was agony for Kekoa the last couple months to have to "leave his family" (as he put it). Seriously, agony. I did everything from bribing to threatening (to take away toys for a while) to spending half the time there with him to just leaving him crying. Well, we finally made it through. Now, I'll just have to wait and see if the phase passes before he goes to kindergarden. Thank goodness it isn't this Fall.
Today we had a little graduation celebration. Food (of course : ) and a little program - singing included. The kids favorite part was throwing their graduation caps in the air.
Even with all his crazy clingyness, I love my Kekoa. Cute kid.
ps. these photos are courtesy of Kyle, since I was conducting the program.

poor kid. It's so hard to leave them when they're sad about it. Good for all of you with completing Joy School. I'd like to talk to you about it more..... maybe next week!
We have a clingy kid in our Joy School group, too. As hard as it is for her, I think the nature of Joy School (having multiple teachers) has helped her get acclimated to being taught by other trusted adults. Hopefully Kekoa will do the same - by kindergarten, preferably. Great pictures, Kyle. He looks pretty joyful to me!
Those are really cute pictures. Mom and I were laughing about them. Kekoa looks so cute. He almost looks like Uwe in the first one.
I'm glad you all made it through! I'm invited to do Joy School with some neighborhood moms this fall. I think it will be great for the kids, now I'm just trying to convince myself that I'M up to it... (when it's my turn to host, I mean.) I'd like to hear more about how it went for you!
