This morning I got and came downstairs and Kekoa was at the bottom - with a huge smile he told me they had a surprise for me. Kekoa asked me to close my eyes and directed me into the kitchen (so funny how he wanted me to close my eyes but still make it to the kitchen). He then said I could open my eyes. I found two cards he and Kaika made for me. Kekoa exclaimed, 'HAPPY EASTER DAY!" We all laughed. Kyle said they practiced so carefully, but he must have forgotten it was "mother's" day amidst all the excitement. Here are the two masterpieces they gave me.

Kyle made me a delicious, hearty breakfast which we all enjoyed as a family. I had a chance to go back to sleep and take it easy. One of my favorite parts of the morning was when we all piled into our bed. Five people in a queen bed is nice and... close. I loved it though - my sweet family I love so much all together.
Kyle had other great plans to make the day special (including crab legs for dinner), but it was postponed because he got the stomach flu. We were in the middle of sacrament meeting when he turned pale and we just headed home. I was sad to miss the rest of church, but wanted Kyle to be taken care of. Even though it didn't quite turn out like Kyle had hoped, it was still a wonderful mother's day. I realized today more than ever how lucky I am to have such a sweet husband. Based on the way he treats me - everyday is mother's day.

I really wanted a picture with my little ones - taken on mother's day. Here were are in real-life, a little hashed, but happy to have each other. Poor Kyle was only able to snap a few before he had to run back inside and throw-up. That's love right there.
