Oh, the Places You'll Go!

Today I read the boys this great Dr. Seuss book. It really is a great book and if you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. There are many great messages in the book. One of my favorite lines is this -

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go.

First, I am reminded of my own life and how I will write the story of my life by the decisions I make each day. I determine my own destiny and the person I will eventually become.
I also thought of the great potential that is in each of my sweet little boys. I am always a little sad at the thought of them growing up on me - but it is also amazing to think of all the good they can do in their lives and I wonder what great things are in store for them. I need to think of what I can do to prepare them today for wonderful futures ahead. I love my boys very dearly and am so grateful for eternal covenants that will bind them to me for eternity.

I love that book, too! I love that it's comforting and empowering at the same time. And that it does emphasize our power to choose.

I love that book and often give it as a gift when people are at a crossroad/embarking on a new adventur/phase of life! It just has a great message!
