Return of the Superheroes

Today the boys pulled out the costume bin to transform into Batman and Superman. It has been a while since they've put their costumes on and I was happy to help them get dressed. I got them both geared up and they stood facing each other smiling. The dialogue went like this.

Ikaika: Hi Batman.
Kekoa: Hi Superman.
Ikaika: What are you doing?
Kekoa: I'm doing good.

I have often asked someone how they are doing only to get a report of what they are doing. This opposite example got me thinking about Koa. He really is such a good boy. Amidst the craziness and moodiness of childhood with him seeking to test boundaries and limits, I see so much good in him. He is such a good older brother caring for his brothers (Sepa especially) with such sweetness. He is always watching as Sepa learns to come down our stairs. He'll sing, "Feet first, Sepa" as he makes sure he reaches the bottom safely. Of course he wants to grow up to be Batman one day, but he also want to grow up and be a daddy just like his Daddy. And his prayers always include us being a "whole" family and listening to mommy and daddy. I often dread the time when our little bubble will break as Koa goes to school and begins to have outside influences that may not always be positive. But I know he will be okay. Why? Because I know he loves me, knows that I love him and has a good heart. I know Koa will set a good example for his brothers in doing good throughout his life. I love my Kekoa.

Even though its a little sad to see them grow up, I love listening to the older boys make conversation. Its so fun to see their little minds work! I love that candid picture of them in their costumes. :)
