Half Way

Terrible pictures, but it'll have to do. . .

I am so excited to finally be at the halfway point for my rug : ) With caring for the boys, photography, getting the house ready to sell, relief society stuff, and everyday life, I have a hard time making room in the day to work on it. Hopefully I'll get it done quicker now that I am understanding more what I am doing. It is definitely a first-time rug with its imperfections. I just remember it could be a lot worse. If you want to know what the rest of it will look like, it is just the opposite as Navajo rugs are almost always symmetrical. It's enjoyable and I am excited to finish my first rug : )

Go UVU . . .

Kyle gave me one of his new cards tonight. I thought it was a fun way to post about the new job he started a little over a week ago. I was a listening ear as he applied to this position and I think Kyle is a perfect fit. It goes along well with what he is studying for his doctorate. He's such a hard worker and will do a great job for sure. We are all so proud of Daddy : ) Thus, a new chapter begins for Kyle and our family.

I'm Too Cool for this Horse

Today Sepa and I had sometime together while Kyle took the older boys to a presentation he needed to do. I decided to try out some new fabric I got to use as a backdrop. Not perfection by any means, but still kinda fun. How's this for a 15 month shot? I love his thighs . . . munch-able.

15 months

Who's the boss of the family? No messin' with this little one. Cute as a button, strong willed, good third child (can hold his own), charmer, now 1/3 of the time walker, milk drinker, daddy's little boy, outdoor guy, great imitator, entertainer, our third musketeer. Love our Seps.

Planting Seeds

Yesterday, we had a little lesson on the Plan of Salvation for our FHE. It wasn't anything fancy or extravagant. I simply introduced it with a little analogy of a treasure map (to reach Kekoa's understanding and interest level) and then had Kyle draw out the plan of reaching our treasure of living forever with our families and Heavenly Father. There was something very memorable for me as we sat on the couch with a peice of white paper and a pencil showing Kekoa (who is the only one who really listens during FHE) this marvelous plan. I thought about times on my mission when I taught about the Plan of Salvation to people who'd never heard it before. It made this little 'missionary experience' with my own child seem so real and significant. Who better could I teach and lead along to understand truth than my own children? I loved the moment because Kekoa was actually listening and asking questions. Afterward Kyle drew a few pictures of things we need to do to fulfill the plan (like be baptized, go to the temple, read scriptures, etc). My favorite moment was when Kekoa added his own drawings of loving our family and sharing. Hmmm . . . maybe some good things are actually sinking in.

Snoozin'

This past weekend we attended some late events with the boys (ROC show and fireside, just for the record). It has totally thrown off the boys schedules. Its not my favorite thing when they fight naps then fall asleep at 3 or 4 in the afternoon. It makes for long evenings when they can't fall asleep. We'll hopefully get back on track soon. Here are some pictures. I love how sweet and innocent they look when they are asleep.

House Anyone?

So we have officially decided to put our house up for sale. I'm not going to go into any details or justifications for this decision. We just feel it is right for our family. So if anyone you know is looking - it's a great home we have loved so much. It cleans itself, resists all stains and has blossoming flowers on the kitchen table year-round. Okay, maybe not, but we do have the best neighbors who we might try and pack up with us.

Snap Shot

I was determined to get a family picture on Easter. This was the best we could do in 15 seconds of trying. At least everyone's eyes are open and 80% of us are smiling. Good enough : )

Easter

Easter weekend flew by, but we enjoyed time as a family with grandma in town. One of my new traditions for Easter is to make matching ties for the boys. This is only my second year running. We'll see if I stick with it. Thanks to my mom, I made it this year. The boys make them look good.
But aside from the ties, candy, and treasure hunts, I tried to teach them (especially Kekoa) about the blessing of Easter. Of the love of the Savior and what Easter means to our family. I'm not sure how much they really got it (Kekoa was extremely disappointed when he thought the only gift he was going to get in his basket was mommy telling him Jesus was resurrected), but little by little they'll learn. I love my four boys and am eternally grateful that we will be resurrected and together as a family forever.

Gettin' Back

The boys and I were in AZ for the weekend (and then some). It was terrible to be away from Kyle (Kekoa missed his Daddy like crazy), but we were happy to visit with my mom. I enjoyed the conference sessions so much. It truly was an edifying conference for me. I am excited to put into practice some goals I made over the weekend. We are now happy to be home and busy with life again.
