Happy Halloween!

It was a fun Halloween day with our threesome of Superheroes. We had a quick dinner then took the boys out before it got to late. I had fun tagging along, taking pictures and enjoying being together as a family. My favorite was when we were one house into it and Ikaika decided to go back and get his 'motorcycle' (aka: his tricycle). He pedaled back and said, "Mommy, I faster." The ironic thing was the silly thing slowed him down as he had to get on and off it. But he did find the back compartment to be a perfect place for his candy stash. We went around the neighborhood until Kekoa said he had enough candy (which was before I was ready to be done). It was a great evening.

Here is a picture Uwe, my twin brother took at our Ward Halloween party last night. Our family won the chili cook-off. Leslie - it was your great recipe. I should give you the prize, but it was all 'handed-out' last night :)

And here are a couple extra pictures of the season. First our carved pumpkin. Of course it had to be a bat.



This was just a little pumpkin game where the boys would create their jack-o-lantern by choosing the mouth, nose, eyes, etc. Here's the one Koa made : )

Same, same

This is one of my favorite pictures of Kekoa as a baby. He went through a phase of making this face all the time. It made me laugh so much. So cute.

Well, at church on Sunday I saw Kekoa make the same face. It made me laugh again. I wanted to take a picture of it. Luckily I got the chance today when I was out doing pictures for a friend of mine. Love this cute face. Isn't it amazing how he still makes the exact same face?

Whole Wheat

(This post is for Jen - mainly because I think you'd be proud of me. )
Today my mom and I went through the rather fun process of grinding some wheat and making bread. I guess anything would be that much more fun with my mom there beside me (She turns any sewing project into a fun adventure : ) We even tried two different recipes to see which we liked better. So I am now the proud owner of a wheat grinder. It is fun. I really enjoy all the things that go along with being a homemaker. Yeah, sometimes I even enjoy doing the dishes.

Batman Heaven

It was a crazy, but very fun day celebrating Kekoa's birthday with a full-on Batman Party. Not everything worked out 100% but I think Kekoa enjoyed it. Sometime during the process of planning, I asked Kekoa if he knew why I was doing everything for his party. He said, " Yes. Because I like Batman and you love me." I sure do love that little boy.

Every good party begins with some good food. Then we went on a Batman Adventure when shortly after dinner we got a call informing us that the Joker had stolen the cake. After some fun games to prepare the kids to go on their quest they solved some riddles and found the plates, napkins and forks. With no luck finding the cake it was time to "call" for Batman with a signal on the wall. The kids cheered, "We want Batman," and right on time The Batman knocked on the door to deliver the cake. We all sang to Kekoa and he blew out the candle. Batman was a great encourager for Kekoa to be good and even gave him a Batman utility belt to add to his collection. Fun day, crazy day, happy day : )

PS. Kono - we wish you could have been there. Tell mommy Auntie knows Batman if you want him to come to your birthday party in November : )

Kekoa got hooked up with a bunch of Batman toys. Amazingly there were no duplicates. He is loving all his new Batman gear. Thank you to all the givers : )

4 Years of Fun

Happy Birthday Kekoa! I woke up this morning and thought of this day 4 years ago when I was just in the beginning stages of labor. Such excitement, anticipation and a little bit of insecurity. And here we are 4 years later, my sweet Koa growing up so healthy and strong.
We had a fun day having lunch with Daddy, enjoying games at Mountain Land Fun, watching Wall-E, and picking out his big boy booster seat. We even squeezed in a moment for me when my sister took me to a luncheon at the UVU Institute for Women Appreciation Day. So thoughtful of my sweet sister and her friend, Keisha. The day ended with Kekoa's favorite meal of eggs and rice. We all look forward to a fun celebration on Saturday for his actual party. I love my Koa.

Sepa - 9 months

Longer out than in the oven now. Sepa is a sweetheart. He is quite mobile though he is not crawling just yet. He is my first to do the army-crawl thing. I can't leave him anywhere near the steps. He loves to wave goodbye now and still gives great grins to everyone. Here are a few more pictures for fun. I wonder how long it will take before he can get himself out of the teacup.

Fun Fall

I love Fall. I love the cooler weather, the beautiful colors, the yummy harvest of fruits and veggies and the anticipation of the upcoming holidays. I also love living in Utah county with the different Fall outdoor family activities (my sister says there is next to nothing where she lives in NM). Today we went to the Pumpkin Patch in Orem. It was our activity for a Daddy-Day that we do as a part of Joy School. It was fun and the boys really enjoyed it. I was excited to come home with 10 tulip bulbs to plant for next spring : ) Happy Harvest Time!

First Hair Cut

Well here are a slew of pictures for Sepa's first haircut. We did family pictures today - I am so excited: ) - so that meant a haircut for Sepa. He looks so cute in these pictures I couldn't decide which to post so I just did them all. Enjoy.

In the Every Day

I try to do pictures of the everyday things. Here are a few that will help me remember this phase of life (which I am enjoying so much). They will probably never end up in picture frames on my wall - but they are fun to me anyway.

Today I gave Kekoa some Kiwi. At first he thought it was a little too sour - but when I told him that the black seeds were "Batman Power Seeds" he ate the whole thing and wanted more. Was that bad of me?


Well, it has finally happened - Kekoa has loved a hole in the pant leg of his Batman outfit. I told him he should take this picture to show Batman that he needs a new one. Good thing his birthday is just next week.

For Joy School today we took a trip to this new Farmers Market in Orem. Kekoa loved the fruit and found some good entertainment in this grocery bag.



I love this little boy's sweet face. He is such a handsome little guy. The first picture was what he did when I asked him to look at mommy. He makes me smile.



I got a new camera yesterday (only one small step up from my old one), and so I took Sepa into the studio to try it out. These two were pictures that just looked like him and what this age is all about.


The other day I came around the corner from the kitchen and found the boys just sitting quietly on the couch (never happens). I said, "Your guys look cute." Kekoa responded, "Thanks. Do you want to take a picture?" Don't mind if I do. . .
